The Poggios
We, Jesse & Jan, are the proud parents of our adventurous son, Jack and our courageous daughter, Perri, who at just 9 weeks old was diagnosed with incredibly rare genetic anomalies.
My wife & I were both born and raised in sunny South Orange County, California and still call it home today. We met in high school and it was love at first sight. Fast forward 20 years, we’ve since planted our roots in Laguna Hills and are raising our two kids where we were lucky enough to grow up.
Our son, Jack, was born on 10/14/2019, just one year & two days after Jan & I got married on 10/12/18 in San Clemente. Jack is 3 years old and is our wild child, climbing anything insight and even brave enough to Tarzan jump/swing in our pool from heights that tower taller than him.
Jan studied at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD and has devoted her life & career to helping others. She is currently a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) at Kaiser Permanente, Orange County.
Jesse studied at the equally prestigious California State University, Long Beach and is the Business Development Manager for a Lighting Technology company based in Irvine, Ca.
In-between juggling the numerous doctors, therapies, phone calls & paperwork, you’ll find us soaking up the sun at the beach, chasing Jack on our daily park adventures, stuck in the preschool drop-off & pick-up lanes, showing Jack & Perri the magic of Disneyland and, most importantly, letting our kids be kids while creating memories & instilling the importance of family.
Our “new normal” wasn’t quite what we envisioned & our journey ahead is unknown but Perri has flipped the script on what we previously thought was important by teaching us what is truly meaningful in life…

Pennies for Perri is an annual fundraising event we founded to raise awareness and funding for the ONLY organization in the world dedicated to Chromosome 18 research – the Chromosome 18 Registry & Research Society, an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
